和大多數樂迷一樣，認識蘇格蘭四人樂隊Travis是在那britpop最繁盛的九十年代,那時期英倫最具代表的britpop以Oasis和Blur為首，即使當時Travis得到Oasis讚賞，在那時期多如繁星的britpop樂隊中，Travis並不是本人的心頭好。
到了britpop的沒落，"Coldplay式音樂"的抬頭，99年Travis推出了憂鬱神傷的專輯《The Man Who》,那優美的旋律，憂愁感性的唱腔與歌詞，撫平了不少樂迷的心靈，我也是其中之一吧。稍後，他們推出了延續風格的《The Invisible Band》和受到911襲擊事件所影響的深沉專輯《12 Memories》。說實的，《12 Memories》有點兒是過渡性的專輯。

三年的蘊釀，Travis終於在07年發行了他們的全新第五張專輯《The Boy With No Name》。從拿上手的專輯封面細看，對他們的感覺回來了，採用的字體設計與及CD封面找回《The Man Who》和《The Invisible Band》的攝影師操刀，《12 Memories》的陰霾已被洗掉，音樂是反樸歸真的窩心旋律。

開場曲"3 times and you lose",主音Francis清唱著，慢慢伴隨著清脆的木結他聲引領著我們。隨後是一輪鼓擊和電結他的輕快清爽曲目"Selfish Jean",首發單曲"Closer"，簡單的結他chords，在華麗的大提琴相映下,深情唱著"closer, closer, Lean on me now, Lean on me now..."動人的旋律，令人一聽難忘。甜蜜過後是沉實的"Big Chair","Battleships"有著前作"Follow The Light"的風格。
"Eyes Wide Open" 是全碟中較沉重之作，電結他游走全曲，Francis也唱得較為"肉緊"。接著"My Eyes"是寫給剛出世兒子的結他小品。


"One Night"的前段並不討好，到了中段重覆唱著"One Night..."，流露出感情豐富的唱腔，卻沒有拖泥帶水，完結位點到即止。"Under The Moonlight"是和英國女唱作人KT Tunstall合作的歌曲。"Colder"是Dougie寫的歌曲，聽說他利用e-bow一種吉他配件，發現動聽的音韻而創作。"Out In Space","New Amsterdam"這些招牌結他小品當然少不了。
承繼Travis專輯的優良傳統，隱藏歌曲"Sailing Away"仍然吹著口哨，俏皮的存在。

整體而言，Travis的新專輯單就每一首曲目都很動聽，優美旋律比比皆是，也重回《The Man Who》和《The Invisible Band》的音樂取向，不喜歡的會說它沒有突破，一成不變。然而，找對了樂隊的音樂風格又何需改變？而實情是早在《The Man Who》時期,他們已作改變了。

說起來很害怕寫一些紀念專輯文章，Bonnie Pink一直是我少數欣賞的日本歌手，由她初出道的一頭染紅短髮妹妹開始，直到現在...也說明了自己不再年輕...

在此先為Bonnie Pink作小小簡歷。95年推出處女專輯《Blue Jam》,其聲音與作詞曲的能力獲高度評價。之後就和不同的外國音樂人錄製專輯，早期音樂風格更被視為瑞典系樂風。是日本J-Pop音樂主導下的異數。

"Heaven's Kitchen"是我第一次接觸Bonnie Pink音樂的曲目。
而第一張買的Bonnie Pink專輯是《Let go》。其剛柔並重，細緻豐富的唱腔，樂風包融有Jazz、Rock、Soul...令我愛不釋手。其後再買入她其他的專輯，在這十年時間，日本樂壇早已翻天覆地...也很少雜誌報導其消息。然而，Bonnie仍默默地出版專輯。


今年為紀念Bonnie Pink出道十週年，推出了單曲雙CD專輯《Every Single Day-Complete BONNIE PINK(1995-2006)》，結集了由初出道95至06年推出的細碟單曲，可算是Bonnie的十年總結。
一些Bonnie的名曲如"Heaven's Kitchen","Evil and Flowers","過去と現実","Private Laghter","Last Kiss"等等都一一收錄。

其實今次藉著十週年紀念，低調的Bonnie也增加了曝光率，例如專輯中收錄了早前為資生堂ANESSA CM廣告歌"A Perfect Sky", 又客串演出電影【花樣奇緣】唱出"LOVE IS BUBBLE"，MV更少有的賣性感。這兩首風格改變的歌目，並不是在下的心頭好;作為風格改變的曲目，我喜歡"So Wonderful"，MV又有趣。然而這張紀念專輯作為認識Bonnie Pink的不二之選，初回限定盤還附送DVD,收錄6首MV。

來自英國的三人樂隊Muse，經過三年的潛伏，發表了樂隊的第四張專輯《Black Holes And Revelations》。在前期，Muse給我的印象只是另一隊的Radiohead，原因是樂隊主音Matt有著一把酷似Thom Yorke的嗓子；當然，最後發現我的想法是錯的。

我是打從樂隊的第二張專輯《Origin Of Symmetry》開始認識Muse的音樂，而這張專輯也漸漸將Muse的痛快淋漓的聲樂定形，踏上世界音樂的大舞台。兩年後(03年)，樂隊將搖滾樂和古典音樂完美揉合下，創造出精彩絕倫的第三張專輯《Absolution》。這張專輯的耐聽性極高，記得當時將這專輯介紹給我哥哥聽，一聽三年...直到全新的第四張專輯《Black Holes And Revelations》出現。

作為他們的樂迷，《Black Holes And Revelations》可說是期待已久，是《Absolution》的延續？還是另轉方向？然而第一主打歌"Supermassive Black Hole"已經告訴大家，Muse還可以有更多。初聽這曲時，還以為是Suede派的新樂隊;那些節奏舞曲，Matt妖豔的假聲,都另我重新估計新碟的方向。


大碟開首曲"Take A Bow"已蘊釀帶進Muse的華麗音樂太空作準備。 "Starlight"在鋼琴的襯托下感覺如Keane的作品。"Map Of The Problematique"的電結他高壓張力令人透不過氣。緊湊過後又換來簡單靜態的"Soldier's Poem"，之後有深情唱腔的"Invincible"，到後段的張狂，是如此收放自如。"Assassin"承接"Invincible"後段的張狂，繼續痛快淋漓。"Exo-Politics"機械式節拍前奏和"Hoodoo"鏗鏘結他聲到後段鋼琴很有戲劇的效果。"City Of Delusion"和"Knights Of Cydonia"則為專輯注入新元素。

今次專輯聽說著重歌詞的表達，帶有政治色彩，而音樂部份並未有因為上張大碟的成功而模式化。古典主義少了，變化出曲風多樣化的pop Music,這種走回基本又不失Muse的音樂風格，彷彿告訴樂迷:"我們pop得起!",然而上張大碟的擁戴者可能更期待的是《Absolution》的延續。

又是九十年代英倫搖滾音樂惹的禍，認識Radiohead就在我的求學時期；迷戀著他們的低調沉溺，迷戀著樂隊主音Thom Yorke的矛盾情感和獨特嗓子。到了06年的今天，Radiohead的音樂已昇華到另一層次，從英倫搖滾進化到電子音樂偏鋒。當得知樂隊的靈魂Thom Yorke將會推出其個人專輯時，那久違了的興奮期待的心情，直到專輯拿在手上才能平伏。

全碟9首曲目，起首的專輯同名歌曲"The Eraser",重覆如機械般的鋼琴聲夾雜著一些合成效果，久違了的嗓子蘊釀出驚豔的一曲；"Analyse"的印度音韻為歌曲加入迷幻元素。"The Clock"的多層音效拼貼，Thom Yorke喃喃道出冷酷的電氣搖滾 。"Black Swan"是奇洛李維斯的真人動畫電影[A Scanner Darkly]的片尾曲；"Skip Divided"帶有點Gorillaz的味道。
其實經過部份的旋律化曲目，後部份的音樂就顯得較平淡，甚至有重覆又重覆之感，"Atomos For Peace"和"And It Rained All Night"正是間場之作。直到"Harrowdown Hill"合成節拍和後部份的鏗鏘結他才令我再帶來一絲興奮。

今次專輯的音樂取向仍是Radiohead後期的冰冷電子樂風，冰冷氣氛既滄桑又沉溺，歌詞抽象又難明；有人說像《kid A》的風格，若硬要比較的話，它更偏向《Amnesiac》。而這張個人專輯對我而言是期待多於驚喜，在音樂上未見有《kid A》時Thom Yorke的前瞻性和新嘗試來得震撼；而事實上我很喜歡《kid A》的這大碟。
順帶一提，很喜歡為Radiohead/Thom Yorke設計專輯封面的設計師Stanley Donwood。喜歡他的設計風格。


看著他用回"結他音樂"演繹"The Clock"，即使在樂器運用上的不同，骨子裡音樂本質和氣氛都是殊途同歸。
Thom Yorke無疑是當今最天才橫溢的音樂人，到了這樣的層次，對他而言這次的個人專輯根本沒有任何包袱，反而是Radiohead的樂迷，他們的包袱何時才能放下。

在此之前，先簡介goodmorningloria的成員；Gloria Tang是樂團的主音， 曲詞唱彈，編曲監製，全能的唱作女生。Edmund Leung: 熟悉HK獨立團的人都會知Edmund Leung為90年代HK獨立樂團Huh的主音,曾替不少歌星當歌曲監製，04年推出個人專輯《Yes... Music for Felines》，音樂造詣不容壞疑。tamshui: 視覺藝術/多媒體創作人。三人組成了goodmorningloria。

早在兩三年前，HK獨立樂團一遍清新派熱潮，goodmorningloria在那時自作業地推出首張同名專輯，風格清新獨特，自然舒服，曲詞簡單直接，优如晨早朝露，晨早起床說聲早...

開首曲"玩具森林"和"悔？"都具有都市節拍感覺，"心裡面"是首輕快的guitar pop，
"鐵罐"中詞"無眠夜讓現實沐浴在黑咖啡...","將漆黑的漆黑通通都喝光天就光..."清脆結他勾弦加上弦樂,和"浮雲"的電氣化節奏，是少有的沉溺之選，"如若微風"和英文歌"Start"是發揮歌莉雅甜美聲線的代表，
"點算好?"的rap是歌莉雅的新嘗試，主旋律討好，但歌詞流於表面，"細細個成日係天星碼頭執到兩蚊雞，如果日日執，夜夜執，咪好易生活無憂..."，有點兒"假天真"!

新專輯的兩首曲目"Day"和"Apple Tree", 是為首張專輯出現過的曲目，現在來過重新編曲;"Day"在首張專輯已出現過remix版本作隱藏曲目，今次的是"acoustic"版,"Apple Tree"則是guitar主導的版本，整體上這兩個重新編曲的版本都比舊版本差，前者沉悶，後者舊版本比新版本更活潑跳脫。


一直很喜歡goodmorningloria專輯的包裝，不要誤會是甚麼華麗的包裝，這只是很簡單的illustration，上一張同名專輯如一本插圖書，很精緻，可能和成員之一tamshui是視覺藝術/多媒體創作人有關。

首張同名專輯那自然舒服的氣息，在第二張大碟有了一些轉變，無論曲風和樂器都要比上一張豐富。
在首張專輯中,歌莉雅做對了她的歌曲風格；而新專輯的一些新嘗試卻顯露了歌莉雅聲線單薄的缺點，"黑咖啡加掃把糖"未必是甜美的配搭。
